Academics

At Egerton Primary School, we adhere to the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS), with English and Afrikaans as the primary languages of instruction.
Our Foundation Phase, encompassing Grades 1 to 3, focuses on nurturing the holistic development of each child in a nurturing and stimulating environment, employing diverse teaching approaches to cultivate curious minds. Our committed educators ensure every student receives a comprehensive education, fostering active engagement across all aspects of school life. Alongside a broad curriculum, students benefit from specialised instruction in Physical Education, Creative Arts, Computer literacy and Coding and Robotics. Regular visits to our library instil a love for reading.

As students progress into the Intermediate and Senior Phase (Grades 4 to 7), they encounter a more structured learning environment, facilitated by a team of skilled and dedicated educators. This transition towards a formalised approach nurtures a strong work ethic and prepares students for the challenges of high school and beyond. In addition to core subjects, students continue to receive specialised instruction in Physical Education, Creative Arts, Computer literacy and Coding and Robotics, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience that equips them for future success.
